Blue and White Flint Red (青花火石红) is a celebration of this rugged, elemental beauty. Its origins date back to the Yuan (1271–1368) and Ming dynasties of China, where high-iron clay reacted naturally with the oxygen in wood-fired kilns. Where the glaze ended and the raw earth was exposed, a warm, rusty orange "halo"- known as Flint Red - would bloom.
